My main hobby, as many already know, is running. The last years more and more off the road, trail running, and long distance.
My main focus is to enjoy running and the time is not important anymore, like the philosophy is of many trail runners.
Last week I was thinking about my planning for this fall and if I will take part of any event.
Then there came the invite of Silverside to take part of the Seven Hills in Nijmegen on 16th of November. I have always mixed feelings of these events. Crowded everywhere, but the course is very nice and last but not least it is always a joy to be part of the Silverside customer event. Well organised, nice people and good food.
So I will run the 16K Seven Hills once more.
Opposite of the Seven Hills, I decided to take part of the Devils Trail event on 28th of September, near my home. It is pure trail run event. Only a few meters on a road, the rest off road. I looking forward to run and enjoy these 26K through the forest and a cross some plain fields.
My basic fitness is still there, but I need some more balance in my body. So I go 1x a week to the Gym to do core stability exercises. And off course to do some running. Extending my distance and get used to the impact on my body.
It is going very well and the joy is running is back, finally.
September and October is every year the months of the unexpected run events. The last years I always run the Dam2Dam run in Amsterdam on a short notice, when there is a business team in the need of a runner. And last year I also run the UHE, an team event which covers with 10 persons 100K, on a short notice and I ran 2,5 stages.
So we will see what is coming.
I have already some running plans for 2015, but they are all still uncertain and premature. I will write another blog about these plans.
